When I first started presenting The Good Life I interviewed a remarkable woman named Josie Emery, who had written an autobiography titled The Real Possibility of Joy. Since then we have kept in touch through FB and I have followed Josie’s life adventures.
From a successful career with the ABC she has moved to a large country town and literally started a second life. She has worked on local publications, been busy with editing, become a proficient woodworker – and discovered a musical talent! Which was the focal point of our conversation….
Josie had sent me a track she had recorded which was titled Flowers In your Doorway. She wrote it after the suicide of a local resident and it is titled Flowers In Your Doorway.
She told us of the story behind it when, unaware of the death, she saw local people arriving to leave a floral tribute on the doorstep of the house where the person had lived. Beautiful and very moving……
